* My granddaddy taught me down in Tipperary.  We were out there, summer and winter alike.  My school holidays were filled with bee experiences and I have seen the changes that there have been in the last 50 years.  It is true to say there are many elements working against the bees and the bee keepers. But our love for the native Irish bees keeps us breeding and working harder .

This year we will have a 140 mating boxes in my mating yards . I hope for a good May and June for open mating.

Should you like a well naturally mated black queen native we have them from mid- late May onwards.  We have a very good position in our yards no other bee keepers for 7 miles . We breed lots of drones  and position the hives in all directions, two miles from mating yards .my native black mated queen bees are second to none in Ireland , very hygienic and laying machines .o
